Charleston is home to numerous outstanding golf courses. A few public courses I would recommend for guests looking to play close to town would be Patriot's Point and Wild Dunes. If a small trek is manageable, Kiawah Island boasts multiple top-rated golf courses just under an hour outside of town.
Downtown Charleston has a little bit for everyone; from world-class shopping to classic southern cuisine all of which can be found throughout the historic cobblestone streets of Charleston. A history buffs dream.
Sight seeing: Joe Riley Waterfront Park, Charleston City Market, Rainbow Row, The Battery, Pitt Street Bridge (in Mt. Pleasant where we got engaged).
While it may be a little chilly for swimming or sunbathing the beaches are still perfect for a walk or run during winter.
Recommendations: Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island
